Job Details

The Director of Audit is responsible for managing and overseeing the audit practice of the firm. This position is a hybrid role that will also involve business development and the opportunity to become a partner in the firm. The ideal candidate has a wealth of knowledge in attest functions and many years of experience working in public accounting.
Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee the audit practice of the firm, including planning, execution, and reporting of audits.
  • Ensure the quality of audit work by monitoring compliance with professional standards and firm policies and procedures.
  • Build and maintain client relationships, including managing client expectations and providing exceptional service.
  • Identify and pursue business development opportunities, including networking, marketing, and proposal development.
  • Manage and mentor staff, including providing performance feedback, coaching, and career development.
  • Serve as a technical resource for the firm on audit-related matters, including interpreting complex accounting and auditing standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification required.
  • At least 10 years of experience in public accounting, with a significant portion of that time focused on audit.
  • Experience managing and supervising staff.
  • Strong technical skills and knowledge of accounting and auditing standards.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proven track record of business development and client relationship management.
